Softball Recap: Tallmadge Now 12-2 over Last 14 Games

Tallmadge never let their opponents score on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by nine runs or more this season.

Larissa Taylor looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sophia Kroah, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Payton Almond, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Tallmadge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Tallmadge is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Stow-Munroe Falls, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Coincidentally, Tallmadge and Stow-Munroe Falls will both be playing South Range the next time they take the field. The Blue Devils will head out to face the Raiders at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
