Volleyball Recap: Shelby Takes a Loss

If Shelby was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Clear Fork last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Whippets lost 3-0 to the Ontario Warriors on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on September 4th.

Shelby took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-18, 25-21.

Madison Henkel paced Shelby's offense, picking up 14 kills. Henkel got some help from Aubrey Lay and her 31 assists.

Shelby moved to 9-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Ontario, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Shelby wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Pleasant on the 2nd. As for Ontario, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Highland on the 2nd.
