Volleyball Recap: Summit Tigers vs. Eagle Valley Devils

Summit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagle Valley Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Summit started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-8.

Zoie Davis-Teets paced Summit's offense, picking up ten kills. Davis-Teets got some help from Reese Melby and her 33 assists. Melby also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Saige Heflin, each putting up two.

Reese Wright was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had ten digs and two aces.

Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Eagle Valley, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 8-14.

Summit does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eagle Valley, they have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Rifle on the 30th.
