Basketball Recap: Denbigh Baptist Christian Takes a Loss

Denbigh Baptist Christian entered their contest against Atlantic Shores Christian on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Denbigh Baptist Christian Minutemen were beaten by the Atlantic Shores Christian Seahawks 80-50. The Minutemen were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-17.

Despite the loss, Denbigh Baptist Christian had strong showings from Joshua Kinney, who posted 21 points, and Kyre Ferguson, who scored 20 points. With that strong performance, Ferguson is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game.

Denbigh Baptist Christian's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Denbigh Baptist Christian will square off against Broadwater Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, they will head out to square off against King's Fork at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. King's Fork knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Atlantic Shores Christian likes a good challenge.
