Soccer Game Preview: Massac County vs. Centralia

The Massac County Patriots will head out to face off against the Centralia Orphans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Massac County has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 27.

Massac County is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Anna-Jonesboro/Cobden on Thursday. The Patriots took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Centralia has been on a difficult stretch since their win on April 19. They lost 4-0 to Collinsville on Wednesday. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Centralia struggled afterwards.

Centralia now has a losing record of 7-8-3. As for Massac County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Massac County came up short against Centralia in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
