Nederland and Dayton are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2015, but not for long. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Nederland put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 56-6 win over Splendora. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Wildcats are ranked 758th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Dayton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 52-46 to Montgomery. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on September 12th (35), the Broncos still had to take the loss.

Nederland will have to contain Denim Foster as he made an impact in Dayton's last game. He rushed for 129 yards and three scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 91 receiving yards. Foster is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 108 every time he's taken the field this season. Jerry Prieto Jr was another key player, throwing for 215 yards and one TD.

Having lost for the first time this season, Dayton fell to 3-1. As for Nederland, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 3-1.

Nederland took their win against Dayton when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 41-17 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
