Basketball Game Preview: Alvin Yellowjackets vs. Kingwood Park Panthers

The Alvin Yellowjackets will be taking part in a tournament against the Kingwood Park Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Alvin will head into Friday's matchup out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune last Friday. They lost 61-36 to Manvel. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 657th, while the Mavericks are ranked 285th).

Meanwhile, Kingwood Park was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 47-43 to Foster.

Kingwood Park's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Alvin, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
