Baseball Recap: El Camino Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mt. Carmel on Thursday, El Camino came back down to earth. The Wildcats came up short against the Sundevils on Friday, falling 11-2. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sundevils earlier this season, when they won 10-1.

El Camino got a good showing from Kaden Zimmerman, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Zimmerman hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in April.

At the plate, El Camino saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Orman, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

El Camino has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. As for Mt. Carmel, their record is now 15-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. El Camino will face off against rival Mission Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel is set to square off against their familiar foe Sage Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Sundevils 3.1, the Bobcats 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
