Softball Recap: Wissahickon Trojans vs. Quakertown Panthers
Wissahickon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They suffered a rough 17-0 loss at the hands of the Quakertown Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Wissahickon of the 16-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
For Quakertown's part, Abbey Wagner was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wagner was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Skyler Williams was incredible, going 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and a stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Wissahickon's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Quakertown, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Wissahickon will be playing in front of their home fans against New Hope-Solebury at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Quakertown, they will head out on the road to face off against Upper Moreland at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Quakertown is looking to tack on another W to their 14-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
