Softball Recap: Mckinney Boyd Snags Tenth Victory in Last 11 Games

After only one run in their last matchup, McKinney Boyd made sure to put some runs up on the board against Princeton on Thursday. McKinney Boyd blew past Princeton 11-0. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Sophia Vlahos, who gave up just three hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Princeton off the board. What's more, Vlahos gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, McKinney Boyd let Reagan Davis and Olivia Locke run wild. Davis scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Locke scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Teague, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

McKinney Boyd has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. Princeton is on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13-1.

Looking ahead, McKinney Boyd will square off against Plano West at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Plano West will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something McKinney Boyd surely won't give up without a fight. We've got a battle between Panthers coming up. Princeton will need to watch out since Plano East has now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
