Softball Recap: Westlake Demons vs. Bay Rockets
Westlake fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Bay on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bay Rockets by a score of 7-6. Westlake was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bay apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Monday.
For Bay's part, Grace Pierce made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over nine innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off 13 hits. Pierce has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in 13 consecutive pitching appearances. Pierce was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a double.
