Softball Recap: Fairfield Union Comes Up Short

Fairfield Union started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Lakewood. They lost 11-1 to the Lancers on Saturday. The game marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Fairfield Union's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Lakewood, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 10-0.

Coming up, Fairfield Union will face off against Circleville at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Lakewood, they will square off against Utica at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Lancers' favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Redskins have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
