Football Game Preview: Webb Spartans vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish + How To Watch

The Webb Spartans are taking a road trip to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Webb comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Webb is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Christian Academy of Knoxville on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Spartans were outmatched by the Warriors and fell 49-14. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame played in-conference for the first time on Friday and got just the result they were looking for. They walked away with a 42-35 win over Lakeway Christian Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Fighting Irish.

Webb better keep an eye on Jacorrion Tramble. He was instrumental in Notre Dame's win, rushing for 26 yards and three touchdowns, while also picking up 90 receiving yards and one TD. Those 90 receiving yards gave Tramble a new career-high. Michael Woodley made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Notre Dame didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caleb Green and Woodley. Woodley got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Webb's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Notre Dame, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Webb against Notre Dame in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 35-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
