Morgan has gone 9-1 against Ben Lomond recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Morgan will host Ben Lomond at 3:30 p.m. Morgan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Morgan came up short against Roy and fell 8-3. The match marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Morgan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyson Talbot, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Lincoln Gilson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ben Lomond, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over North Summit on Friday. The Scots haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Kaysen Reeves made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayden Bingham, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Cade Becraft was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Morgan's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Ben Lomond, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Ben Lomond's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Morgan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. It's a different story for Ben Lomond, though, as they've only averaged .202. Will they be able to contain Morgan's hitters?
Morgan took their victory against Ben Lomond in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-0. Will Morgan repeat their success, or does Ben Lomond has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
