Softball Game Preview: Mt. Gilead Indians vs. Danville Blue Devils

Mt. Gilead hasn't had much luck against Danville recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Indians will square off against the Blue Devils at 5:15 p.m. Mt. Gilead has given up an average of 12.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mt. Gilead is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Wednesday. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Knox.

Meanwhile, Danville put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Loudonville get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. Considering the Blue Devils have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Danville's win was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Mt. Gilead, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Mt. Gilead might still be hurting after the 22-0 loss they got from Danville when the teams last played on Tuesday. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
