Recap: Chavez Titans vs. Venture Academy Mustangs
On Saturday, Chavez took a serious blow against Venture Academy, falling 81-53. While losing is never fun, Chavez can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 721st, while Venture Academy is ranked 149th).
It was another big night for Mario Williams, who scored 30 points along with 7 rebounds for Venture Academy. The contest was Williams' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Cameron Lowe was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Chavez's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Venture Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Chavez will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Burbank at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Venture Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Oakdale at 4:00 p.m. on December 7th.
