Preview: Londonderry vs. Timberlane
Timberlane had trouble last week, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Londonderry at 6:30 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Timberlane, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Timberlane found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 6-35 punch to the gut against Exeter. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Timberlane.
Meanwhile, Londonderry faced Salem in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Londonderry took their contest against Salem 28-21. The score was all tied up at the break, but Londonderry were the better team in the second half.
Londonderry's win lifted them to 2-0 while Timberlane's loss dropped them down to 0-2. In their win, Londonderry relied heavily on senior Evan Cormier, who accumulated 222 passing yards and picked up 73 yards on the ground; a key strategy for Timberlane will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
