Recap: Liberty County Bulldogs vs. Cottondale Hornets

The Liberty County Bulldogs lost against the Cottondale Hornets back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Liberty County ended up on the wrong side of a rough 65-41 walloping at the hands of Cottondale. Liberty County has struggled against Cottondale recently, as their match on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kashon Chambers, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. The contest was Chambers' 11th in a row with at least ten points. Gustavo Rubio was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Cottondale's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tramond Collins, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Collins is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Odom, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Liberty County has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Cottondale, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5.

Liberty County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wewahitchka at 6:30 p.m. on January 4th. Wewahitchka has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21. As for Cottondale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Graceville at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
