Volleyball Recap: Sunshine Bible Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Sunshine Bible Academy lost against Crow Creek back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Crusaders fell 3-1 to the Chieftains. Crusaders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Chieftains since Tuesday.

Sunshine Bible Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-18, 25-23, 26-24.

Ciera Mickelson paced Sunshine Bible Academy's offense, picking up 15 kills. Mickelson got some help from Breanna Thieman and her ten assists. Mickelson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Sunshine Bible Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Crow Creek, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.

After both having extra time off, Sunshine Bible Academy and Lower Brule will shake off the rust and duke it out on Tuesday. As for Crow Creek, they will head out to take on Wessington Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
