League recap: Maple Grove/Chautauqua Lake rises in state rank

Maple Grove/Chautauqua Lake scaled the state rankings by moving to 206 from 234 this week, the biggest jump in Section 6 D. Maple Grove/Chautauqua Lake climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Randolph 35-7.

The Cardinals added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Curt Fischer's team, 35-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Kyle Mayer has thrown for 243 yards and 3 touchdowns this season, while A.J. Hulton has 3 catches for 90 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Portville takes on Ellicottville/West Valley Central. At the moment, the Panthers are in fourth, while the Eagles are in third.

Brent Brown's team took down Maple Grove/Chautauqua Lake 35-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
