Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt fell victim to Orange Cove and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Orange Cove Titans, falling 6-0. The Rough Riders haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Roosevelt saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brian Roberson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Roberson has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Roosevelt fell to 4-1. As for Orange Cove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Roosevelt didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-3 tie against Lindsay on the 8th. As for Orange Cove, they will head out to face off against Riverdale at 10:15 a.m. on Monday. Orange Cove's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Riverdale's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
