Baseball Recap: Newport Comes Up Short

Newport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 50th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 14-0 to the Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees.

Newport's loss dropped their record down to 0-25. As for Bethlehem, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-10.

Coming up, Newport is taking a road trip to take on Nicholas County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bethlehem, they will venture away from home to face off against Bardstown at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles/Banshees are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
