Baseball Recap: Central's Win Ends Nine-Game Losing Streak at Home

While Central's victory against North Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Central never let North Central get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted against the Knights since April 23, 2021.

Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Olney, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Dylan Tomberlin also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Central's win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6. As for North Central, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will face off against Anson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Anson has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.5 runs per game on average), something Central will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for North Central, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Buford at 6:30 p.m. on April 1.
