Volleyball Recap: Serra Takes a Loss

Serra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

While Serra ultimately came up short, they really made St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 26-24, 25-15.

Serra's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Serra is set to take on their familiar foe Verbum Dei Jesuit at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy will face off against rival Mary Star of the Sea at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
