Basketball Recap: Alcester-Hudson Comes Up Short

After soaring to 58 points the game before, Alcester-Hudson was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 60-19 loss at the hands of the Viborg/Hurley Cougars. The defeat continues a trend for the Cubs in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Alcester-Hudson's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Viborg/Hurley, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Alcester-Hudson and Viborg/Hurley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps South Dakota Rankings. Alcester-Hudson (ranked 99th) will meet Akron-Westfield (ranked 271st) at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Viborg/Hurley will challenge Gayville-Volin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday up 84 places (4 vs. 88).
