Volleyball Recap: King Wins High-Profile Match Against Greens Farms Academy

King faced Greens Farms Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in October.

King never let Greens Farms Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16, 26-24.

Leading King to victory were Caroline Curry and Emily McAuliffe. Curry had eight digs and three aces, while McAuliffe had four aces and one assist. McAuliffe has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: King was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 18 consecutive contests.

King's win bumped their record up to 20-0. As for Greens Farms Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Looking ahead, King will square off against Winsor at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. Greens Farms Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
