It was another big night for Camden Webster, who scored 26 points along with five assists and five rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. Jeremiah Jones was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Highland lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Justin Slaven, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Slaven has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristijan Zekavica, who scored six points along with three steals.
Highland struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The victory was the third in a row for Kankakee Valley, bringing their record for this year to 8-6. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 20.33 points. As for Highland, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
Kankakee Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Portage at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. One thing working in Portage's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests. As for Highland, they will head out on the road to take on Hanover Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hanover Central is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
