Softball Game Preview: Glendale Nitros vs. Hoover Tornados

The Glendale Nitros will head out to challenge the Hoover Tornados at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Glendale's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four matches, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Glendale came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Burbank, falling 13-1.

Glendale saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jade Marquez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Hoover's offense. They lost 15-0 to Muir on Friday. The Tornados just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Glendale, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13-1.

Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Glendale hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .357. However, it's not like Hoover struggles in that department as they've averaged .338. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Everything went Glendale's way against Hoover when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Glendale made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Nitros repeat their success, or do the Tornados have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
