Football Recap: Dayspring Christian Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Dayspring Christian Academy can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 71-42 loss at the hands of the Sanford Mustangs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (33), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Dayspring Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hawkins Flanagan, who threw for 301 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 54 yards. Elijah Martin helped out on the ground, rushing for 97 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Dayspring Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for Sanford, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Dayspring Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sanford, they will take on Akron at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 947 yards in their previous games.
