Softball Recap: Uniontown Gets the Win

Uniontown hadn't done well against Indiana recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Uniontown sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over Indiana. For the Red Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 win the Little Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2019.

Emmaleigh Noah made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That hit marked the first that she got this season.

In other batting news, Alexa Budner was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Lauren White also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Uniontown's record is now 3-1. As for Indiana, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Uniontown will welcome Hempfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Uniontown's pitchers better be ready for this one: Hempfield has averaged an impressive 11.8 runs per game this season. As for Indiana, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marion Center at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
