Basketball Recap: Nottoway Comes Up Short

Nottoway suffered their closest loss since January 22, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Lunenburg Central Chargers by a score of 55-52. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-59 back in December of 2024.

Nottoway has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Lunenburg Central, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Nottoway will be playing at home against Prince Edward County at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lunenburg Central, they and Essex will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Lunenburg Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
