Softball Recap: Athens Takes a Loss

Athens and Saraland squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Athens had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-2. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 32-17. As for Saraland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 36-11-1 record this season.

Athens wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-4 victory against Gardendale on the 15th. As for Saraland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Helena on the 15th.
