Softball Recap: Lincoln Wins Going Away Against Weaver

Lincoln was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Weaver on Friday. The Golden Bears put the hurt on the Bearcats with a sharp 10-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Golden Bears considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Aubrey Machen was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Smith, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 21-13-1. As for Weaver, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8.

Looking ahead, Lincoln will take on Ohatchee at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Weaver, they will face off against Ranburne at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
