Recap: Green Forest Tigers vs. West Fork Tigers
The Green Forest Tigers lost against the West Fork Tigers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Green Forest took a 58-44 bruising from West Fork. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Green Forest in their matchups with West Fork: they've now lost four in a row.
Green Forest's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Compton, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. The match was Compton's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hesten Maybee, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Green Forest's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-9. As for West Fork, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green Forest will face off against Bergman at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bergman presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Green Forest in Arkansas (Bergman is ranked 15th, while Green Forest is ranked 191st). As for West Fork, they will head out on the road to face off against Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
