Basketball Recap: Stansbury Stallions vs. Murray Spartans
Stansbury lost against Murray back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Stansbury Stallions lost to the Murray Spartans on the road by a 72-58 margin. The Stallions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Murray to victory were Kaiden Nelson and Isaiah Beh. Nelson went 9 of 12 on his way to 21 points in addition to six assists and six boards, while Beh went 9 for 14 en route to 20 points and eight assists. Those 21 points gave Nelson a new career-high. Treyce Wilson was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.
Stansbury's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Murray, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-8.
Stansbury will be playing in front of their home fans against Park City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Murray, they will take on Tooele at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Tooele: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Murray has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
