Volleyball Game Preview: Woodbridge Warriors vs. Irvine Vaqueros

The Woodbridge Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Irvine Vaqueros at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Woodbridge and four for Irvine.

On Tuesday, Woodbridge came up short against Portola and fell 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-15, 21-25, 25-14.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Irvine and University, and University kept the tradition alive. The Vaqueros took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans on Tuesday. While the Vaqueros didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 25-20 in the first set.

Irvine came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 28-26, 25-22, 25-23.

Irvine's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Woodbridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12-1.
