Basketball Recap: Wardlaw Academy Gets the Win

Wardlaw Academy hadn't done well against Anderson Christian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Wardlaw Academy Patriots came out on top against the Anderson Christian Lions by a score of 67-54. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Wardlaw Academy had a senior duo take command as Colt Bailey almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards and Noah Harper went 6 of 13 en route to 21 points and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for Harper. Resse Harper was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Wardlaw Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Anderson Christian, they dropped their record down to 9-14 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wardlaw Academy will square off against Richard Winn Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Richard Winn Academy will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Wardlaw Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Anderson Christian has already played their next contest (against Wardlaw Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
