If Incline wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Battle Mountain, they should've done a better job of containing Paitynn Johns. The Battle Mountain Longhorns simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Incline Highlanders 47-10 thanks in part to Johns, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 9 boards per game.
The team also got some help courtesy of Noel Hill, who posted 14 points along with six steals and five assists. That's the most steals she has posted since back in January.
Battle Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Incline, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Battle Mountain and West Wendover will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 4:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. West Wendover's defense has only allowed 28.1 points per game this season, so Battle Mountain's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Incline, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Silver Stage at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
