Volleyball Recap: Gilmer Comes Up Short

Gilmer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coahulla Creek Colts. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2022.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-21.

Coahulla Creek can attribute much of their success to Mallory Priest, who had nine digs and two aces. Reece Elliott also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Gilmer's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Coahulla Creek, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gilmer will head out to take on Calhoun at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coahulla Creek, they will venture away from home to challenge Rockmart at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
