Basketball Recap: Covenant Christian Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

If Coram Deo Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Covenant Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Aaron Turner. The Covenant Christian Cougars breezed by the Coram Deo Academy Lions to the tune of 78-44 on Tuesday thanks in part to Turner, who almost dropped a double-double on 30 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in November of 2023.

Another player making a difference was Luke Emison, who posted five points and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Covenant Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Coram Deo Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covenant Christian will head out to take on Prince of Peace at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Covenant Christian sitting on three straight victories and Prince of Peace on six. As for Coram Deo Academy, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Coram Deo Academy Lions challenge the Pantego Christian Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th. Pantego Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.2 points per game this season.
