Football Game Preview: Decatur Raiders vs. White Pigeon Chiefs

Decatur is 1-6 against White Pigeon since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Raiders will look to defend their home field against the Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Decatur 9.3, White Pigeon 6.3) so any points scored will be well earned.

Decatur is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 62-0 victory over Comstock. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Brody Mead went supernova, rushing for 160 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 121 rushing yards per game.

Mead was just one part of a punishing run game: Decatur was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 216 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last six matchups, White Pigeon finally came back down to earth on Friday. They lost 32-6 to Bronson. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Chiefs, who until this game were averaging 6.29 points allowed.

Decatur's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for White Pigeon, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
