Volleyball Recap: Milli Mares' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mullen over Standley Lake

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mullen can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Standley Lake Gators on Friday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Milli Mares, who had 18 assists and ten digs. Annie Ancheta was another key player, getting 20 assists and ten digs.

Mullen's defeat dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Standley Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 23-5.

Mullen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Standley Lake, they have already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Battle Mountain on the 14th.
