Woods Cross lost to Murray back in November of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 74-51 margin over the Spartans. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-20.
Woods Cross had a senior duo take command as Bryson Watson went 11-for-15 en route to 28 points and six rebounds and Elliot Bendinger shot 69% from the field on his way to 24 points and six boards. Watson is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Nate Smith-mecham was another key player, putting up four points and seven boards.
Despite the loss, Murray still got an impressive performance from Roman Israyelyan, who went 7-for-17 to rack up 19 points and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Beh, who posted ten points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.
Woods Cross has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 63.0 points this season. As for Murray, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Looking ahead, Woods Cross will challenge Clearfield at 7:00 p.m. on December 3. As for Murray, they will take on Taylorsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
