Hill City wins going away against Plainville

Recap: Hill City Ringnecks vs. Plainville Cardinals

The Hill City Ringnecks had to endure a 14-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 49-24 margin over Plainville. Hill City's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Hill City found their leader in underclassman Rylie Minium, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Minium has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Grace Harmon, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

Hill City's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-12. As for Plainville, their loss was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hill City won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Golden Plains at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Hill City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Monday. As for Plainville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hoxie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Plainville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Hoxie is ranked sixth).
