Volleyball Recap: Bowler Panthers vs. Marion Mustangs
Bowler extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-17. They came up short against the Marion Mustangs, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.
Libby Carrington paced Bowler's offense, picking up eight kills. Carrington got some help from Madison Piotrowski and her 12 assists. Piotrowski also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Vivian Onesti, each putting up two.
As for Marion, their win ended a five-match drought on the road and puts them at 13-10. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 7th (when they won 3-0).
Marion's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Myah Malueg, who had ten digs and two aces. That's the most digs Malueg has posted over her last five matchups. Madeline Wudstrack was another key player, getting 15 digs and one assist.
Bowler and Marion are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Panthers will take on Northeastern Wisconsin Lutheran/Providence Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marion, they will square off against Stockbridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
