Soccer Recap: St. Anthony Find Success

St. Anthony lost to St. Paul back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The St. Anthony Saints sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the St. Paul Swordsmen.

Christian Martin was the driving force of St. Anthony's attack as he scored both of St. Anthony's goals, bringing his season total up to nine goals.

St. Anthony's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-3-3. As for St. Paul, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-8-1.

St. Anthony will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against St. Genevieve at 4:30 p.m. St. Anthony is facing St. Genevieve at the right time seeing as St. Genevieve is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. St. Paul has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Bishop Montgomery on the 20th.
