Preview: East Liverpool Potters vs. United Golden Eagles
East Liverpool has been on the road for three straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the United Golden Eagles at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though East Liverpool has not done well against Oak Glen recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. East Liverpool walked away with a 41-32 victory over Oak Glen. Winning is a bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 25% better than the opposition, as East Liverpool's was.
East Liverpool got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kenzie Headley out in front who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Headley has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dacianelle Andrews, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, United put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season last Thursday. They breezed by East Palestine at home to the tune of 58-10. The win was just what United needed coming off of a 63-43 loss in their prior matchup.
East Liverpool has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for United, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.
