Baseball Game Preview: Woodmont Wildcats vs. Greenville Red Raiders

The Woodmont Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Greenville Red Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Woodmont fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Westside on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (7-4), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Greenville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Greer. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Woodmont now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Greenville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Woodmont was able to grind out a solid victory over Greenville in their previous meeting on Tuesday, winning 7-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodmont since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
