Football Recap: Kell Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Kell's last matchup with Sequoyah could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Longhorns were beaten by the Chiefs 37-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Longhorns have suffered since September 13, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Kell lost, don't look at Moonie Gipson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 177 yards while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Gipson is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 121 every time he's taken the field this season.

Will Rajecki went supernova For Sequoyah., rushing for 221 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Those 221 rushing yards gave Rajecki a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, Kell fell to 2-1. As for Sequoyah, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Kell and Sequoyah should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Longhorns will take on Wheeler at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (34 vs. 118). Meanwhile, Sequoyah (ranked 22nd) will meet Riverwood (ranked 263rd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
