Soccer Game Preview: A.L. Brown vs. West Cabarrus

The A.L. Brown Wonders will square off against the West Cabarrus Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. A.L. Brown's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

A.L. Brown fell victim to South Iredell and their airtight defense on Friday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, A.L. Brown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 240th, while South Iredell are ranked 78th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to nine goals the game before, West Cabarrus was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against Mooresville, falling 8-0. The loss continues a trend for West Cabarrus in their meetings with Mooresville: they've now lost seven in a row.

West Cabarrus' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for A.L. Brown, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

A.L. Brown suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to West Cabarrus when the teams last played back in May of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wonders were down 3-0.
